The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is a fantasy book that tells the story of Bod, who was raised by the spirits and creatures of a graveyard after his family was brutally murdered.

Evaluative Criteria: Plot and Theme. The plot is a bit grim, but easy to follow and has a unique fantasy touch. The book starts with Bods family being murdered by a man named Jack. Then we have him go to a graveyard and is raised from being a toddler to a teen. As in any good fantasy plot, he eventually grows and defeats his families killer in a triumph of good vs. evil. The theme of the story ties in with the plot as well with having our hero growing up with a dark past and still manages to defeat the villain of the story. After the villains defeat, he goes on to live his life.
