Skulduggery Pleasant

Skulduggery Pleasant is fantasy novel by Derek Landy that follows twelve year old Stephanie Edgley and a talking skeleton named Skulduggery Pleasant that team up together to stop the evil Serpine from taking over the world.

Evaluative Criteria: Characters and Plot. The characters are just what you would expect in a fantasy novel. We have Stephanie, our twelve year old protagonist, which is the character that our readers can connect to. Then we have the mix in of the fantasy protagonist, Skulduggery. The plot is just what you would expect to see in a fantasy novel. The plot starts off with a real life scenario, the death of Stephanie’s uncle, then that kicks off the fantasy sequence after we are introduce Skulduggery. Just like in most fantasy novels, there is also an evil that needs to be vanquished.
